At Eden Design we look to create landscapes that respond to location, history and environment.
We listen carefully to our clients aims and ambitions, and seek to achieve harmony between people, buildings and their surroundings.
Caroline Curtis (nee Caroline Smart) BA (Hons) Dip Landscape Architecture
Working in both the public and private sectors since 1991, Caroline’s experience encompasses a broad range of environmental disciplines, from issues on sustainability and access to wildlife conservation and planning.
Caroline set up Eden Design in 1999, then based at the Wool Hall in Bristol. The company name honours an idylic childhood spent exploring Cumbria's beautiful Eden Valley, where Caroline's life-long love of all things outdoors began. As an adolescent she spent much of her time huddled to rock faces on the windswept Cumbrian fells or relaxing lakeside; canoeing, rowing or windsurfing. This relationship with water continues today with regular bouts of (seasonal!) sea and wild swimming, stand up paddle boarding, sea kayaking and the mandatory body boarding. Caroline has now set her sights on becoming a 'Ditsum Belle' in Spring 2012!
Jeff Curtis BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture
Jeff has been professionally designing and creating private and public landscapes since 1996, following a spell as a land surveyor. Based predominantly in the West Country, early employment centred around private garden design companies, including the nationally acclaimed Hillier Landscapes, equipping him with a rich plant knowledge. Jeff's natural ability to create high quality landscapes, combining an understated use of hard landscaping materials overlaid with stunning planting schemes, has resulted in a wealth of private garden commissions and commercial landscapes of considerable merit. Joining Eden Design in 2005 Jeff created the missing link within the company, enabling a well informed, all-round landscape design company to be formed.
Jeffs flair for art is currently being explored through oil and acrylic painting of both land and seascapes, which he just about manages to fit in around work, family...and following and playing his beloved football!
