Noss Playpark Improvements Project - Work well underway on site!
In July 2010 Eden Design was invited by a local community group at Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers to provide professional design experience and help secure funding in order to carry out a major rejuvenation of a local play park. Eventual funding amounted to nearly £86,000, with awards from the Awards for All lottery grants scheme, the Community Spaces programme (funded by the Big Lottery Fund) and South Devon Coastal Local Action Group, as well as a sizeable contribution from South Hams District Council.
After a year of hard work, community consultation and planning, work is now well underway on site to transform the play area to the new exciting layout. Locally sourced timber play equipment is being installed by Earth Wrights Ltd. of Buckfastleigh, along with informal areas of sand and grass mounding to create an exciting play space that will allow for imaginative and creative play for all ages.
The work is due for completion by 1st November (weather permitting) and will be opened shortly afterwards with a launch party (date to be confirmed).
