FSC Slapton Ley

Slapton Ley Field Centre, South Devon

For the Field Studies Council. Part of a national network of 17 centres promoting environmental understanding through training programmes, community projects, tours and publications (www.field-studies-council.org/slaptonley).

Rejuvenation of existing grounds to improve access, circulation and maximise use of space. Featured projects promoting some of the many ideas and principles of the centre, including a working herb garden adjacent to the refectory and kitchens, and other medicinal/edible plants.

Sculpture and furniture by local artists will be used to promote local character and skills, and create individual landmarks aiding students' navigation around the site. Completed 2010.
