Sustainable Design

The interconnected relationship between ourselves as landscape architects and our national environment provides the cornerstone of our practice philosophy.

We believe that good environmental design is represented by responsible, sustainable design solutions, through products, practices, and procedure.

We are proud of the award-winning sustainable developments that we have been involved with and ensure that the same philosophy and approach is taken with every new project.

  • Caroline Curtis

    BA (Hons) Dip Landscape Architecture

Set up Eden Design in 1999 at the Wool Hall in Bristol; the choice of company name honouring a childhood spent exploring her native Cumbria's beautiful Eden Valley, where a life-long love of all things outdoors began.

Working in both the public and private sectors since 1991, Caroline’s experience encompasses a broad range of environmental disciplines, from roles dealing with sustainability and community access to wildlife conservation and planning. Working within local authorities, wildlife trusts and other community and environmental organisations has given Caroline a knowledge and appreciation of environmental issues from all sides.

  • Jeff Curtis

    BA (Hons) Landscape Architecture

Jeff has been professionally designing private and public landscapes since 1996. An initial career in land surveying provided a practical and methodical base from which to study Landscape Architecture at Leeds, and progress into commercial design.

Subsequent years working within design and build companies around Bristol, including the nationally acclaimed Hillier Landscapes, developed a practical knowledge of materials and plants, as well as good working relationships with both clients and contractors.

Jeff's experience and abilities have been honed over the years to create stylish landscapes, with a bias towards the timeless and sustainable, that combine an understated use of hard landscaping materials with stunning planting schemes.
